SARCASM (THE DECEPTIVE KILLER)

Sarcasm is funny?

Sarcasm is a commonly acceptable social behavior. It is often used in a joking matter to bring humor into a group event or family gathering or classroom setting. Though the comments about another are spoken like a joke, it is often hostility disguised as humor. The perpetrator is having fun at another person’s expense. Sarcasm is a subtle form of bullying and most bullies are angry, insecure cowards. This is another tool of the enemy to emotionally tear one down.

Many tolerate this for years among family members or co-workers. They laugh it off while in a group setting, but later suffer the effects as humiliation, shame and rejection. The damage done by others with this deceptive act of humor can be long lasting and devastating. This action can be and is a cause of a curse in a person’s life. These words of sarcasm are repeated in one’s head over and over until it has the power of a curse because the one being targeted is now believing those words as truth.

What are Sarcs?

Is it any wonder? When you analyze the word, sarcasm, it comes from the root word in the Greek, “sarkasein” which literally means “to tear or strip the flesh off”. Sarcs are the bits of sharp metal objects bound in the whip’s lashes in Jesus’ day when scourging was done by a whip. The sarcs just like the ones used on Jesus, were the means of torture that would cut into the person’s flesh until the organs were exposed. With this understanding sarcasm isn’t so funny is it?

In the same way sarcs have cut deep into one’s flesh centuries ago these sarcasms are cutting deep into one’s spirit today.

Sarcs have power

When you receive a sarcasm as truth it can have the power of a curse. You can break that power now by praying this prayer.

Lord I ask your forgiveness for believing this lie this person spoke over me. I forgive him for his sarcasm and I renounce this curse in the name of Jesus it no longer has power over me in Jesus name.
